SEED CAPITAL FOUNDATION
Our mission
The non-profit Seed Capital Fribourg Foundation was created in 2010 with the aim of fostering innovation in the Fribourg economy, in particular by contributing to the financing and development of companies or future companies in high value-added, scientific and technological fields of obvious economic interest to the canton of Fribourg.
In this capacity, the Seed Capital Fribourg Foundation is the structure responsible for granting seed loans as defined in the Economic Promotion Regulations decreed by the State Council of the Canton of Fribourg and which came into force on October 1, 2018.


Board of Trustees
Our members
The Foundation has a Board of Trustees which makes decisions in support of the projects presented to it.
It is made up of members from the public and private sectors with complementary entrepreneurial, industrial and academic experience.
The analysis, preparation and follow-up of projects presented to the Foundation Board are carried out by the Fri Up team, which acts as the Foundation’s general secretariat.

Start-up and innovation ecosystem organizations
Fri Up
Fri Up is the official organization mandated by the canton de Fribourg Its activities focus on supporting start-ups, helping people to create their own businesses and promoting entrepreneurship. The Fri Up team analyzes, prepares and monitors the projects presented to the Foundation Board.
Capital Risque Fribourg SA
Capital Risque Fribourg SA offers financing (equity stakes, convertible loans) to companies in the canton that are innovative, have strong growth potential and are in the process of accelerating their development (first sales already achieved).
Promotion économique (PromFR)
PromFR can support innovative projects in the canton through a variety of instruments.
Tech Transfer (Uni-FR and HES-SO)
Support for research projects wishing to commercialize their innovation through a start-up.
