The aim of the Seed Capital Fribourg Foundation is to inspire and encourage entrepreneurial vocations.
It supports projects by companies that have recently been set up, or that have not yet been set up.
The projects supported must be innovative or high value-added in terms of technology, production process or business model.
Entries will be selected primarily on the basis of their innovative content, market appeal, target clientele, and the personalities of the project team.
The foundation supports projects by companies that have recently been set up, or that will be set up within 12 months of receiving a loan.
However, there are specific innovation and investment support measures for companies in the canton of Fribourg.

The project owner registers online using the form.
An initial selection is made on the basis of eligibility criteria.
Successful projects undergo an in-depth analysis with a view to presentation to the Foundation Board.
The themes discussed during the registration form the basis of the presentation.
The project leader has 15 minutes to make his or her presentation and propose funding milestones, before answering questions from the Board.
The Board deliberates and informs the applicant of the result within a few days.
If the project is selected, the Foundation and the applicant sign a funding agreement.
The team responsible for analyzing applications for loans from the Foundation pays particular attention to the following points: Projects promoting innovation in the Fribourg economy.
A high value-added scientific or technological field.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial vocation.
Identified commercial potential.
Funds used to confirm technical and commercial viability Respect for sustainable development.
Projects are analyzed, prepared, presented and monitored by the Fri Up team.
What’s more, Fri Up offers a support program that complements our financial support.
Before being presented to the Foundation Board, each project is subjected by the Fri Up team to a sustainability assessment using the Boussole21 tool.
Loans can be granted to a natural or legal person.
The project initiator or future companý must be domiciled, respectively carry out its main economic activitý in the canton of Fribourg within a maximum period of 12 months from the granting of the loan.
Seed loans granted by the foundation are intended to finance the activities required to develop and validate the business plan of a start-up companý, including the development of prototypes and market research.
The interest rate is 0% as long as the project does not generate sales, but at most for 3 years.

Our partner Effort Fribourg SA grants microcredit loans of up to CHF 30,000 to support the launch or development of commercial, craft or service projects and activities in the city of Fribourg.
These loans are intended to enable the launch of activities for which it is generally difficult to obtain a bank loan.
They are intended for the development of new business models, new processes or innovative products, even within companies that are already active.
Effort Fribourg SA also supports the development of new projects by offering expert advice and follow-up throughout the loan period.
